PROSPECTUS

Admission
  1. The Management reserves the right to admit or to refuse admission to the school. Similarly, the Management decides when the question of retaining a student in a class arises.
  2. Application for admission and Registration/Forms will be accepted in January to March for the season commencing in April. Registration forms and Prospectus will be available in the School office. Pupils seeking admission will be tested/ interviewed and admitted only on the basis of merit.
  3. A parent or a guardian of a candidate seeking admission to Class I must produce a Birth Certificate from Municipality/ Cantt. Board/Gram Pradhan or, in the case of a Christian, a Baptism Certificate.
  4. A candidate wanting to join class 2 nd and above can not be admitted unless his or her previous school transfer certificate is produced.
  5. The minimum age required for an admission to class 1 st is 6 years of age. The minimum age at the time of admission will be calculated as on the 31 st March.
  6. All the admission will be strictly on the basic of the merit of the candidates. Any unfair means like attempt to bribe, recommendation etc. will debar the candidate from getting admission.
  7. After the admission, if the student fails to attend class, no refund of any kind shall be made.
Curriculum

The School year begins in the month of April. The academic year is divided in to semesters/terms : April-September and October-March. The courses of studies followed in the School lead to Indian Certificate of Secondary Examination (Class-X) ICSE.

Text books and note books should be covered neatly with brown paper and should bear the student name, standard, section etc. in ink on the front side of the outer cover.

Recommendation to Parents
  1. Parents are requested to bear in mind that the school attaches great importance to building a sound character in the pupils. Therefore the parents are expected to cooperate with the school by making their children understand that a well ordered and a disciplined way of life is an important at home as in the School.
  2. Parents are requested to co-operate with the school authorities in enforcing discipline.
  3. Parents are expected to sign progress report or any other similar documents when requested. Failure to do so will put their children to great inconvenience
  4. They shall also keep an eye on the attendance report.
  5. Particular attention should be paid to the uniform which must be neat and clean. Pupils who do not wear neat and clean uniform are not admitted in class would be sent home.
  6. Parents are strictly forbidden to meet their wards of their teachers when classes are being held, parents are requested to meet the teachers on the day of parentteachers meeting or with prior permission from the Principal.
  7. We recommend that parents check the school Handbook of their child regularly and enforce regularity and discipline at home and see that their child prepares his/her lessons and does the assigned homework. Remark made in the Handbook should be seen and countersigned.
  8. Withdrawal of your child from classes for mere social function is not recommended, because it retards the child's progress.
  9. If a student is likely to be ill for a long period the principal must be informed as early as possible.
  10. A student must not attend the school if there be any infectious disease in the home until the danger of infection had passed. Intimation to this effect must be given to the principal.
  11. If absence, due to illness, lasts for more than three days, an application for leave must be made to the principal, accompanied by a registered doctor's certificate.
  12. Those who return to school after absenting themselves without leave shall not enter the class without the permission of the principal.
  13. Changed in the address or the telephone numbers in the parents/guardians shall be intimated to the School authority in writing
  14. Parents are welcome to visit the school and discuss the problems of their children with the teachers or the principal, by prior appointment. However they are not expected to enter the class rooms during school hours.
  15. Teachers are not allowed to give private tuitions to the student studying in Sacred Heart Academy.
  16. When students are taken on tours/picnics or excursions, utmost care will be taken of their safety. However the authorities take up no responsibility for any outward incident which may take place on such occasions.
  17. Complaint, if any, should be made to the principal in writing and not to the class-teacher.
  18. Parents are invited to establish memorial Scholarships, thus perpetuating the memory of a cherished one as well as helping in the education of someone who otherwise would not have been able to enjoy the kind of education that their children are having
Rules and Regulation

All the rules and regulations that are in force from time to time are binding upon all the pupils and parents. Ignorance of the existing rules and regulations will not be an excuse for the lack of compliance. The school expects every student to maintain a high standard of discipline inside as well as outside the class room. Special care must be taken by teachers and students to preserve an atmosphere of silence and serous work during class hours, and must keep in mind the following points :

  1. Student shall reach the school at least five minutes before the first bell.
  2. The students should be in proper School uniform
  3. The student must respectfully great all the staff members whenever they meet them inside or outside the School.
  4. When spoken to by teachers or elders the students are expected to stand to attention and not lough with their hands in their pockets
  5. While going to the morning assembly, P.T. classes or when changing class rooms, the students should go silently in single line without disturbing the neighbouring classes and keep to the left of the corridors.
  6. Students should not leave the class rooms during any period without permission. They are prohibited from going out of the School premises during School hours without the permission of the Principal.
  7. The students are not allowed to bring cell phone and similar electronic equipments to the school.
  8. The Students are not allowed to bring motorized vehicles/two wheelers to the School/campus on working day as they are not legally eligible to hold a valid driving license
  9. Student should bring to the class all necessary text books and note books according to the time table. Other books or magazines should not be brought to the class.
  10. Students should be regular in submitting their home assignment and disciplinary action will be meted out for failure to do so.
  11. Irregular attendance, truancy, insubordination to teachers, habitual neglect of studies, indifference to School work and obscenity in word or action are sufficient reasons for suspension of a pupil.
  12. Any king of damage done to school property must be paid by the parent /guardian of the child. The decision of the principal regarding the amount to be paid is final.
  13. Students are expected to keep the school premises clean and should not destroy any plants or flowers or litter up the place. Dust-bins are provided for use.
  14. Exchange of articles or money transaction between students are not allowed.
  15. No collection for any purpose whatsoever is to be carried out by the students withoutt he permission of the principal.
  16. Running, playing or shouting inside the School building is not allowed.
  17. Presents/ gifts to teachers or other remuneration in their honour are not allowed in the School without proper permission.
  18. The School cannot make itself responsible for the loss of book, money, ornaments, clothes and other articles, Students must look after their belongings. It is not advisable for students to have money or valuable article with them in the school.
  19. Strict regularity, implicit obedience, politeness and courtesy in speech and conduct and cleanliness of dress and person are rigidly insisted up on
  20. Every student must bring the school handbook to the class daily. Any information or request conveyed to the parents/Guardians through the Handbook by the Principal/teacher should be complied with and acknowledged.
  21. Smoking or use of any seductive articles by a student is strictly prohibited in the School and School premises. Those found violating this rule will be dismissed with immediate effect.

  23. Bringing of arms and weapons like knives, chains, and fire arms to School justify immediate dismissal.
  24. The students are not allowed to tattoo the visible parts of their body. At the time of admission the candidates will be checked for the same. The candidate maybe denied admission if they are found bearing tattoos. A student can be dismissed from the school for violation of this rule.
  25. The students are not allowed to wear sports caps in the school. If someone wants to wear it due to the death of one's relative he has to get written permission from the principal before doing so
  26. Boys are not allowed to wear ear rings, rings and bangles. Girls are prohibited to wear bangles and ring.
  27. Students are answerable to the School authorities for their conduct both inside and outside the School. Hence Misbehavior in public places and conveyances justifies dismissal.

Office Hours

Summer : 08.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Winter : 09.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.

No business shall be transacted on holidays, the principal can be met between 10 a.m. to 12 noon on working days and other times by appointment.

ATTENDANCE

  1. All the students are expected to be present on the opening day and the closing day of the academic year.
  2. It is compulsory for every student to put in 80% of the total attendance
  3. Absentees at an examination will be considered as having failed unless it is established that their absence was due to illness.
Fees and Withdrawal

The fees include school management fee (at the times of admission only), exam fee, composite fee (Computer, Furniture, Garden, Postage and Telephone, Printing and Stationery, Repair, Scholarship, Travel Expenses, Teaching Aid, Celebration, Sport and games, electricity and water, library, medical, teacher welfare expenses, students welfare expenses, cultural activities, maintenance, audio-visual etc.) Fee is likely to increase every year.

  1. Late fee with a fine of Ä 50 for the month and Ä 30 each for the successive month are to be paid in the school.
  2. School fee will be charged for all the 12 month of the year. No allowance in fees is made for broken periods.P.T. UNIFORM : Compulsory on Wednesdays, Saturdays and other prescribed days.
  3. Up-to-date fees should be deposited before the terminal examination, failing which a student will not be permitted to sit for the examination
  4. Parents will kindly keep the receipts issued to them in proof of payment to be produced when needed.
  5. In case of loss the fee book, a duplicate one may be issued on payment of Ä 50/- from the school.
  6. Cheques will not be accepted.
  7. Fees once paid will not be refunded.

Withdrawal

  1. An application for a Transfer Certificate has to reach the Principal's office at least two days in advance.
  2. The application for a T.C. must be made on the prescribed form, available in the school office, together with the prescribed fee and must be signed by the parent/guardians.
  3. No Transfer Certificate is issued until all the dues to the School are paid.
  4. The parents will have to pay the expenses involved in counter-signing of the T.C.
  5. The School Reserves the right to ask the parents/guardians to withdraw their child if his/her progress in studies is found unsatisfactory, his/her attendance is irregular, his/her conduct is harmful to others, and for reasons which in the opinion of the school authorities render his/her continuance in the School Undesirable.
Examination and Promotion

Students absent from an examination for any reason will not be reexamined. In the case of illness a doctor's certificate will have to be produced. Absence from the whole examination involves a total loss of marks.

Absence from a subject excludes a student from being reckoned in the order of merit in the examination.

Any willful breach of regulation for the peaceful conduct of examinations is punishable by expulsion from the whole examination and if discovered subsequently it will lead to the cancellation of the papers. A pupil caught for malpractice in examination will not be awarded any mark for the subject and could be debarred from subsequent examinations or be dismissed from the school.

Reports are given to the parents/guardians and these will be withheld for non-payment of school dues.

Norms of Promotion

Promotions are granted on the basis of the whole year's work of the pupil, promotion list will be made as per norms given below :

The decision of the School is final in the matter of promotion Representation for reconsideration will not be entertained. Requests for pass transfer certificate also will not be entertained. There will not be any re- tests. Children are given Grades in order to avoid undue competition among parents and students.
